Evaluating

Students will evaluate both their artwork and their development as artists. They will then use the formal qualities to describe their chosen artwork and reflect on the inquiry process. Students will also reflect on their development as artists, considering skills learnt and processes.

Inquiry Questions

Factual - How can ideas be expressed in an artwork through text? How can we communicate ideas in art?

Conceptual - How do the elements of art help communicate an idea?

Debatable - Does an image communicate the same ideas to everyone?

Task 4

Dear Students,

  1. Describe your completed artwork using the elements of art and big ideas in the unit.
  2. Write a final reflection considering the process and your artistic development.

Consider the following questions:

  • How does your artwork connect to the artist you have researched?
  • How does your artwork communicate an idea to an audience?
  • Do you think the work was successful? Why or why not? What would you do differently?
  • What are your current strengths as an artist (which task were you best at?)
  • What skills did you learn in this unit, and how well do you think you mastered those skills?
